Memory In Waves
“Eres ola, que te envuelves en la bruma,
Y te disuelves en la espuma,
Alejándoteme mas…”
Olas y arenas – Sylvia Rexach
“You are wave, wrapped up in haze,
dissolved in the sea foam,
Moving further and further away from me…”
Waves and Sands – Sylvia Rexach
Memories are powerful. They can awaken both joy and sorrow. Not everything that happens to us earns a lasting place in the realm of remembrance. Only certain fragments—moments, people, words, sounds, scents—find their way into the depths of our being.
Like the ocean, always in motion, our memories shift and transform. They can rise as overwhelming waves or fade and dissolve into the vastness of their own sea.
This work reflects some of those impressions. Memories that evolve with time yet continue to hold an enduring space in our hearts.
